Los Angeles Rams vs. Buffalo Bills

The Steelers and Colts are among the best NFL bets in Week 3. We've hit Week 3 in the NFL season and it feels like we've hit a milestone for gambling information. Each team has played one home game. Last week, Steven Ruiz went 7-9-0 (16-13-3 overall) and Charles Curtis went 5-11-0 (13-16-3 overall). We now go to each of them for comments before their picks.

Nfl Schedule Week 3 Odds

Sunday, September 27, 2020 – 1:00pm EST Bills Stadium

The Rams will be cross country once again as they face the Buffalo Bills for Week 3 of the NFL season. They are currently 2-0 after wins against the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The offense has looked solid and the defense has looked even better to start the season.

The Rams are averaging 443 yards of total offense per game and allowing 382.5 yards on defense per game. Jared Goff has looked solid throwing 40-58 for 543 yards and three touchdowns along with an interception. Goff’s receivers have done a great job gaining extra yards after the catch as the team leads the league in yards after catch with 7.6 yards after catch.

Currently Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers are questionable to play with injuries. Those two running backs have helped the Rams gain 172 yards on the ground per game this season. Meanwhile, the Bills are also 2-0 and will get their chance at 3-0 at home in this one.

Josh Allen leads the league in passing yards (not rushing yards) which is quite astonishing. The big acquisition of Stefon Diggs has been a huge help to the Bills as he has 16 receptions for 239 yards along with a touchdown. The Bills offense is no joke. Allen has already thrown for 729 yards in two games and has compiled six touchdowns with his arm. The Bills really built their offense around Josh Allen.

Imagine if other teams like the Jets built their team around their franchise quarterback… Josh Allen has it well and he’s proving that he belongs. Allen hasn’t been given much pocket time via the offensive line but he’s able to extend plays with his feet and that’s what makes him special. He’ll need to do a better job of holding onto the ball when rushing, however. The Bills defense on the other hand, has allowed scoring drives on 36.4 percent of

drives and are allowing 4.1 yards per carry this season. But remember, the Bills have played the Jets and Dolphins, which are two of the worst teams in the NFL this season. Now they’re favorites against the Rams who have one of the better defenses in the league. Allen won’t be throwing the ball around in this game. The Rams have a clear path to an upset win cross country.

New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts

Sunday, September 27, 2020 – 4:05pm EST Lucas Oil Stadium

I just trashed the Jets in the first portion of the article. They’re one of the worst teams in the NFL, if not the worst. Look at the receivers the Jets have. Look at their defense.

Nfl Spreads Week 3 2019

Wait, can you even tell me a player on the Jets defense other than Quinnen Williams? No? That’s what I thought.

The Jets offense has been plagued with injuries and the defense isn’t up for the challenge. Reports continue to come out about Adam Gase as head coach, not taking his job seriously and saying some stupid things to the meda.

Look, I’m an optimistic guy. Gase is the problem. Until he leaves, the Jets will be the laughing stock of the NFL. The Jets lost to a banged up 49ers team last week, 31-13 and lost to the Bills 27-17, when the score really didn’t reflect the game. The Jets were defeated badly.

The offense is averaging 275 yards and giving up nearly 400 yards on defense. Darnold has thrown for just 394 yards in two games this season. Josh Allen threw for more in one game.

On the flip side, the Colts have a quarterback in Philip Rivers, who is finally getting their receivers involved the way Jacoby Brissett couldn’t. The Colts have plenty of talent on offense and showed off their defense against the Vikings last week, holding them to 11 points using a garbage touchdown.

The Colts have allowed an average of 228.5 yards per game this season and their offense is gaining 408 yards. Look for the Colts to come out quick against the Jets secondary.

Now that we’re two weeks through the 2020 NFL season, what might have seemed like anomalies during the opening slate of action can now be seen as trends.

Nfl picks week 3 2020

The New York Jets are an absolute laughingstock in every way. That has led to the Indianapolis Colts being major Week 3 favorites against their conference rivals. On the other hand, two NFC West quarterbacks in that of Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson have their offenses clicking on all cylinders.

In taking a look at Week 3 action around the NFL, here’s a look at some best bets and locks. One hint would be to go with the heavy favorites to cover. We start with that.

Colts at -10.5 is the lock of NFL Week 3

  • The San Francisco 49ers found themselves as 6.5-point favorites over these Jets last week. Despite losing Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert and Nick Bosa to first half injuries, San Francisco absolutely dominated a laughable Jets squad. The score was 31-6 before a garbage-time touchdown pass from Sam Darnold.
  • Jets head coach Adam Gase called his team out big time following the loss, likely leading to a further disconnect between the embattled figure and his locker room. Now 0-2 on the season and without running back Le’Veon Bell, the Jets are a mess.
  • As for the Colts, they overcome a brutal Week 1 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars by handing it to Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. Indianapolis’ defense yielded less than 100 net passing yards and recorded three interceptions. Rookie running back Jonathan Taylor went for over 100 yards on the ground replacing the injured Marlon Mack. He will eat in this one, leading to the Colts covering. That’s one of the best bets of NFL Week 3.

Take the Packers and Saints at the over

  • Green Bay is averaging a whopping 42.5 points per game through two weeks. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for north of 600 yards with six touchdowns and zero interceptions. Aaron Jones has gone for 312 total yards and four touchdowns at running back.
  • Despite some struggles on offense in their upset loss to the Las Vegas Raiders last week, the Saints still amassed 424 total yards of offense. It’s hard to bet against Drew Brees after two consecutive iffy performances, too.
  • Both of these teams have also been somewhat questionable when it comes to scoring defense. The Saints are yielding 28.5 points per game while Green Bay has given up an average of 27.5 points. In what promises to be a barn burner, the 51.5 over/under actually seems too small.

Tom Brady and Buccaneers should cover against injury-depleted Broncos squad

Best nfl bets week 3Nfl picks week 3 2020
  • We were surprised that Tampa Bay opened as a mere six-point favorite over the Denver Broncos heading into Week 3. Given the injuries Denver has sustained through two weeks, it’s pretty much the lock of the week that Tampa will cover.
  • Jeff Driskel will get the start under center with fellow quarterback Drew Lock sidelined. Pro Bowl running back Phillip Lindsay remains out with turf toe. Meanwhile, Pro Bowl wide receiver Courtland Sutton is lost for the season with a torn ACL. That doesn’t even take into account serious injuries Pro Bowlers, edge rusher Von Miller and cornerback A.J. Bouye, have suffered on the defensive side of the ball.

Espn Nfl Schedule

  • After a brutal showing in Week 1, Brady had his Buccaneers playing well this past Sunday en route to a 31-17 win over the youthful Carolina Panthers. Now that Denver needs young players to step up, look for the Bucs to take advantage and cover easily here.

NFL lock of the week: Cardinals plow past bad Lions teams

Best Nfl Bets Week 3

  • Under defensive-minded head coach Matt Patricia, Detroit’s defense has yielded an asounding 63 points over the past five quarters of football. That included a three-touchdown performance by Mitchell Trubisky in the fourth quarter of the Lions’ ugly season-opening loss.
  • The Lions are absolutely terrible on the defensive side of the ball. It’s not going to get any better moving forward, either. This obviously has Patricia on the hot seat.
  • The backdrop here is a Cardinals team that laid 30 points on a much better Washington defense last week and has MVP front runner Kyler Murray playing tremendous football. Arizona as a mere 5.5-point favorite makes absolutely no sense here.
